Want to seriously impress your brunch guests? Go beyond #teaandtoast and pair your favorite Numi tea with a coconut smoothie bowl! Your table will be filled with beautiful colors, and your guests can customize their own smoothie bowl to go with their favorite flavor of tea. My favorite combination is my Numi Toasted Rice tea with a tropical fruit and coconut smoothie bowl.
Tropical smoothie recipe
1 mature coconut (you can find these at your local asian supermarket)
1 small frozen banana
¼ cup frozen mango chunks
½ cup coconut milk or coconut water (I prefer full-fat coconut milk for a creamier, more decadent smoothie)
¼ cup ice
a tiny splash of vanilla
Toppings
Mango, dragon fruit, coconut meat
Assembly
Drain the coconut water from your coconut and split in half. This will form the bowl for your smoothie! Reserve the coconut water, you can either drink it on it’s own or incorporate into your smoothie. Scrape some of the coconut meat out of your “bowl” and reserve for topping. Blend your smoothie ingredients, pour into your coconut bowl and top with coconut meat and fruit.
Pair with Numi Toasted Rice green tea and enjoy!
This recipe allows for endless variations. Be creative and try different combinations until you find the perfect smoothie for you! I also like:
Golden Chai tea + chocolate and peanut butter coconut bowl
Skip the mango and add a few tablespoons of peanut butter to your smoothie. Top with coconut flakes, dark chocolate chunks and a chocolate drizzle. Pair with Numi Golden Chai tea.
Rooibos tea + berry coconut bowl
Substitute strawberries for mango in your smoothie and top with blueberries, raspberries and cherries. Pair with Numi Rooibos tea.
