Whipped Green Tea Body Butter

  1. Measure oil and cocoa butter into a glass measuring cup or handled bowl. Place the container in a hot-water bath until all solids are melted, stirring often. I place my glass measuring cup in a small pan of hot water over the stove.
  2. Stir in matcha powder, using a whisk or handheld blender to incorporate fully.
  3. Place the mixture in the freezer (or outdoors in a pile of snow, if you live in the right climate!) until partially solidified. It should be quite hardened on the edges, but still slightly soft in the center. If the mixture is too solid or too soft, it won’t whip properly.
  4. Place the partially solidified mixture into a stand mixer, and whip for 3-5 minutes on high speed, until the color is much lighter and the texture resembles a fluffy buttercream frosting. Place in an airtight jar. If your home is warmer than 75 degrees, keep in the refrigerator to preserve the aerated texture.
  5. To apply, rub a small amount into the skin (a little goes a long way) until absorbed.
