Tea and Teacup Candle
Recipe type: Gift
  • A unique teacup of mug (I like to use beautiful pottery or vintage teacups)
  • Candle wax (you can use beeswax, paraffin, or soy wax, available online or at most craft stores)
  • Cotton wick and metal tab (or a washer or small coin)
  1. Melt wax over low heat. Place wick in mug (secure in place by dripping a tiny amount of hot wax into the bottom of the mug and pressing the wick’s metal tag there. Hold the wick in place by tying it around a chopstick or dowel rod resting on the rim of the vessel.
  2. Pour melted wax into the mug. Allow to harden overnight.
  3. When the candle is used up, the recipient can clean out the mug and use it for tea, coffee, and cocoa!
  4. Pair with a box of Numi tea that’s bright and fragrant, like a green tea or herbal teasan.
