As one’s love for tea grows so does one’s search for the perfect tea related accessories to enjoy your tea with or in. To help you with that quest, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite consciously created tea related items, each eco-friendly and ethically made like the tea which will infuse within or alongside it.
Sunset Series Mug | RISA NISHIMORI – $56.00
Trained in Japan, New York artist Risa Nishimori seems to have mastered the traditional technique of nerikomi which uses different colored clay to create the patterns and designs in ceramics. She works in her family’s ceramic studio, Togei in New York City, which was established in 1994 and teaches traditional artistries from across Japan.
Handcarved Teaspoon | SIREN SONG – $60 (set of 2)
Beautiful hand-carved teaspoons made from ethically sourced water buffalo horn in Vietnam. Each set is completely unique, adding a bit of artistry to your morning routine.
Individual Tea Set | Casa Verde – $68
This lovely individual tea set from ethical homeware shop Casa Verde has a built-in strainer and elegant matte glaze finish. It is made in Japan by artisans who run their own family-run business.
Cast-Iron Kettle | STAUB – $169
Something like a kettle should be a once in a lifetime buy, and these cast-iron kettles by Staub are sure to last a lifetime. They’re spendy, but they’ll be an item you can pass down through the generations and you’ll never have to buy it again! They’re great for teas as well as soups and bisques.
Cream & Sugar Ceramics | VINTAGE – $33.81
Buying vintage ensures there is no further impact on the planet or its inhabitants from your purchase as the item has already been used and is being passed on to you. Etsy is a great place to find vintage pottery, like this lovely Vintage Sioux Pottery Ceramic Creamer and Sugar Bowl Set.
Tea Time Glass Travel Bottle | FULL CIRCLE HOME – $24.99
Made by Eco-Friendly / Ethically-made cleaning tool company, Full Circle Home, this to-go heat-resistant borosilicate glass bottle has a built-in strainer for bagged or loose leaf tea. It’s BPA Free and has a cork sleeve for insulation, plus it looks pretty stylish for tea on the go.
Glass Loose Leaf Teapot | FOOD 52 – $35.00
Perfect for Numi Organic Tea’s loose leaf tea or beautiful Numi Organic Tea’s flowering teas, this glass loose leaf teapot has a stainless steel filter attached to the lid so any of the pretty tea in the pot doesn’t end up in your cup.
Ceramic Tea Canisters | BACK BAY POTTERY – $72.50
These pretty made-to-order canisters are perfect for holding your tea, and are handmade in California by a local artisan.
Tea Strainer | ATELIER PETIT – $26.00
This super cute handmade porcelain and brass tea strainer is made ethically be Atelier Petit in Detroit, Michigan. I found it on a site which lets you create ethical bundles of thoughtful ethical gifts called Phyla which is definitely worth noting down for a revisit this coming holiday season.
