4 Iced Tea Popsicles

by Holly Rose 16 Comments

When it comes to summer treats, whether you’re an adult or a child, popsicles are at the top of the list in the refreshing realm. While fruit juices and wild coloured pops can traditionally take the cake, we thought we’d experiment with some more ‘adult’ tastes to create these dynamic, delightful sophis-tea-cated herbal popsicles infused with teas from Numi’s new collection of Holistic Herbal Teasans.

MATE

Earthly, chocolate and maca-based Mate Teasan pairs well with rice milk (or any milk of your choice), oatmeal and a splash of agave, to make a more hearty pop you can snack on. Garnish with chocolate shavings and freeze.

GUAYUSA

Flavor-laden Guayusa Teasan with fresh lime juice and agave, for sweetness. Garnish with edible flowers and freeze.

MORINGA

Combine lemon myrtle scented Moringa Teasan with fresh watermelon juice, lime and agave for a bit of sweetness. Freeze and garnish with sesame seeds.

HIBISCUS

Combine floral Hibiscus Teasan with a fig, vanilla, agave, rice milk, chia seeds and cinnamon and blend until smooth before freezing in your popsicle mold.

Recipe type: Iced Tea Popsicles
Serves: 4 60ml popsicle per recipe
Ingredients
  • MATE
  • ¼ cup Numi Holistic Mate Teasan
  • ¼ cup rice milk
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp oatmeal (GF)
  • 1 square of chocolate shaved
  • ---
  • GUAYUSA
  • ⅓ cup of Numi Holistic Guayusa Teasan
  • 2.5 tsp of agave syrup
  • 1 tsp of fresh lime juice
  • ---
  • MORINGA
  • ¼ cup of Numi Holistic Moringa Teasan
  • 1 slice of watermelon (deseeded and transformed into ¼ cup of Watermelon Juice)
  • 1.5 tbsp of agave syrup
  • 1 tsp of fresh lime juice
  • pinch of sesame seeds for the garnish
  • ---
  • HIBISCUS
  • 1 cup of Numi Holistic Hibiscus Teasan
  • 1 fig (blended into a fig mixture of which you will use 3 tbsp)
  • ½ tsp of vanilla
  • 2-3 tsp of agave syrup (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp of rice milk
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. MATE: Make a cup of Mate tea and let it seep and cool. While the tea is cooling, add the rice milk, agave syrup and oatmeal to your blender. Once the tea has cooled, add it to the blender and blend it together so the oatmeal becomes liquid. Place the mixture it in the popsicle maker (make sure it’s BPA free!), garnish with chocolate shavings, and stick it in the freezer.
  2. GUAYUSA: Make a cup of Guayusa tea and let it seep and cool. Once the tea has cooled, pour ⅓ of the cup into a bowl, mix in the agave syrup and lime juice and mix together. Place the mixture it in the popsicle maker (make sure it’s BPA free!), garnish with edible flowers, and stick it in the freezer.
  3. MORINGA: Make a cup of Moringa tea and let it seep and cool. While the tea is cooling, put the watermelon in the blender and blend until smooth, remove the juice and measure out ¼ of a cup to place back in the blender. Add the lime juice to the ¼ of a cup of watermelon. Once the tea has cooled, pour it into the blender with the ¼ of a cup of watermelon juice and the 1tsp of lime juice. Blend it all together. Place the mixture it in the popsicle maker (make sure it’s BPA free!), garnish with sesame seeds, then stick it in the freezer.
  4. HIBISCUS: Make a cup of Hibiscus tea and let it seep and cool. While the tea is cooling, put the fig in the blender and blend until smooth. Remove the fix mixture and place it into a bowl. Measure out 3 tbsp of the fig mixture and place back in the blender. Once the tea has cooled, add it to the blender as well along with vanilla, agave syrup, rice milk, chia seeds, cinnamon and salt. Blend until smooth. Place the mixture it in the popsicle maker (make sure it’s BPA free!), garnish with edible flower petals, then stick it in the freezer.

🌱 Why do grades of tea matter? The larger the leaf, the greater its surface area for steeping and the more complex the infusion. Numi uses only hand-plucked, fuller leaf quality tea for a pure taste that balances depth and nuance. Many bagged teas are machine-picked and use low-quality fannings and dust. Smaller grades release tannins more quickly, leading to a dark, bitter-tasting cup. Wake up with fuller leaf teas that steep slowly and evenly, delivering a smooth, rich flavor. When you drink our tea, you’ll immediately taste the difference. ☕️ Find our Breakfast Blend and over 40 delicious organic blends on our Amazon store. Link in bio.
