Matcha Smoothie Bowl

January, for at least about 40% of the population of the U.S, is a month for resolutions. Though one never really needs a new year to make a commitment for bettering oneself, for many of us the feeling of newness that comes when the calendar restarts is a powerful motivator for setting intentions.

I recently stumbled across a list of this year’s most common New Year’s resolutions, and was pleasantly surprised by how many of them center around health, strengthening important relationships, and giving back.

It seems as though most of us are hungry for a way of life that is simple, healthy, and meaningful.

Supercharge your mornings and power through your intentions for the new year with a matcha smoothie bowl! Matcha tea packs in a huge dose of nutrients and antioxidants, boosts concentration, and strengthens the immune system, all while giving you a little hit of caffeine to get you up and moving. With just a few simple and wholesome ingredients, whipping up a matcha smoothie is a quick and easy addition to your routine.

MATCHA SMOOTHIE BOWL

  • 1 handful raw spinach leaves
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 1 banana (frozen, if you’d like a thicker, shake-like smoothie)
  • 1 tsp Numi Citrus Matcha Powder or Ceremonial Matcha powder
  • 1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Toppings: Sliced banana, chia seeds, unsweetened coconut flakes, and strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries

Place spinach, coconut milk, banana, matcha powder and (optional) sweetener  in a blender and blend until smooth. Top with sliced banana, chia seeds, unsweetened coconut flakes, and strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries.
