What is tea without water?
844 million people around the world lack access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s why we created Together for H2OPE, a Numi Foundation nonprofit initiative to assure water access by building or repairing water and sewage infrastructure and administering community-led education in our farming communities.
For World Water Day, please join us alongside like-minded brands and ambassadors helping to create awareness and assure more people have access to this life-giving resource.
Join the #4H2OPE ambassadors on World Water Day (March 22) for a challenge intended to illuminate the importance of clean water access. Learn more by following the ambassadors and @numiorganictea leading up to World Water day, and join us on March 22nd for a chance to win prizes from our awesome brand partners! THANK YOU to like-minded brands supporting Together for H2OPE and other programs having a positive impact on the world water crisis. Click here to learn more, and stay tuned for a chance to win our Together for H2OPE gift box filled with products that help bring clean water to communities around the world.
The global water crisis is heating up--not just in rural areas of developing nations where Together for H2OPE programs are underway. Cape Town, South Africa is on the verge of running out of water and residents are limited to less than 7 gallons per day.
How does limited access to water impact your daily life?
Experience what it’s like to have a scarce supply for daily activities that require clean water: Find a gallon container, fill it, and use it sparingly for anything that requires clean water -- hydration, food prep, bathing, etc. Limit yourself to 7 gallons for the whole day. Share highlights of what it's like without a steady stream of clean water at your fingertips.
Most of us go about our day, not worrying how we’ll get water or that we'll run out of water. We’re fortunate and grateful to have this vital necessity at our fingertips.
On World Water Day, be hyper-mindful of your water use. Reflect on what would shift if the tap went dry.
When you shower, hydrate, use water for preparing meals, etc., pause and think about how that experience would change if you had no indoor plumbing. What would be different if you had to walk a mile (or more!) to a water source, collect water, carry it back to your home, then boil it before using or consuming? Share your reflections throughout the day.
