Created for Numi by Executive Chef Rachel Reuben, Food Fix Kitchen.
Using tea-infused spirits is a creative way to flavor to both savory and sweet cocktails. For this sweet and spicy turmeric martini, we love how Executive Chef Rachel Reuben went outside the box using turmeric tea-infused simple syrup and garam masala sugar for a distinctive South Asian-inspired cocktail.

- NUMI AMBER SUN TURMERIC TEA INFUSED SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 1 bag Numi Amber Sun Turmeric Tea
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1 c water
- 1 tsp ground ginger or grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp coriander

- GARAM MASALA SUGAR:
- 4 tbsp organic cane sugar (or other granulated sugar)

Instructions
- COCKTAIL: Moisten the rim of a martini glass and dip into sugar mixture, coating it generously. Gently turn glass upright careful not to dislodge sugar from rim. Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add vodka, simple syrup and lemon juice. Shake vigorously and strain into waiting sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
- SIMPLE SYRUP: Bring water and sugar to a quick boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add ginger, coriander and one Numi Amber tea bag. Remove from heat and allow syrup to steep for a minimum of 30 minutes or up to two hours. Remove teabag. Use two immediately or store in an airtight sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- GARAM MASALA SUGAR: Combine sugar and spice blend thoroughly in a small bowl. Transfer sugar mixture to a small flat dish large enough to fit an inverted martini glass.
